Following the four consecutive of successful annual celebrations, on this year Sanur Village Festival will be set on August 4 – 8, 2010 taking place at Segara Ayu Beach and Inna Grand Bali Beach Sanur.
“Saha Nuhur” is preferred for this year’s theme of the festival that literally means “the passion to visit a holy place” that later become the name of Sanur. With its popularity, Sanur Village Festival will attract more visitors to the island of Bali this year and more importantly to map this event in the world of tourism calendar.

There will be many events everyday as scheduled below:

Yoga festival presents a complete image of yoga and designed to interact with all of the main programs. Morning session will be started at 06:30 – 08:00 AM and Afternoon session 17:00 – 18:00 PM.
This daily workshops are designed for families, children, beginners Yoga practitioners, those who access Yoga for healing purposes, and for fun. The workshops will be held from 08:30 – 10:00 AM.
This activity aims to build a creative and harmonious collaboration with other communities, such as musicians, painters, or dancers.
This part of the Yoga village offers healthy food and drinks a lá Yoga, besides provide an interactive space for the participants to share their knowledge and perspectives of “body, mind, and soul”.
This activity is a place for socialization and communication between the hobbyist of Adenium and Bonsai plants to show their works and collections, as well as to reach an achievement. These activities are in line with the mission of Tourism, Art, Culture, and Environment.
Forms of activities:
Enjoy a city tour experience by trying out bike paths that have been built by Denpasar Authority. Sanur Village Festival 2010 provides an opportunity for the enthusiastic visitors who enjoy cycling to cycle to some of the city’s tourist destinations such as Bajra Sandi Monument, Museum Bali, Badung Puputan Field, Chess Front, and the Satria bird market.
There will be daily Morning trip (leaving at 09:00 AM) and Afternoon trip (leaving at 14:00 PM) arranged with maximum of of 36 persons.
In addition to the healthful exercise, cycling is environmentally friendly. Hence it would also help to extend the age of the earth; an environmental rescue effort that has become one of Sanur Village Festival’s main campaigns from year to year.
Water Sport activities are a daily sight which color and energize Sanur from sunrise to sunset. Jukung (traditional Balinese fishing boats) activities, kite surfing, wind surfing, and canoeing are main water sports and tourist attractions that give positive contribution to the local economy.

This activity is part of Sanur Village Festival 2010 to mobilize and promote the unity of the fishers. In addition, it is to bring forward the fishing activity as a hobby as well as a marine sport and tourism.
In this tournament, the contestants will only be allowed to use three techniques namely jigging, popping and trolling.
The competition is going to be held on August 7, 2010 at 05:00 AM to 13:00 PM, starting from Semawang Beach and heading toward Badung Strait.
The fishing boundaries would be Lebih Beach, Gianyar at the north, Nikko Hotel at the south, and Lembongan & Nusa Penida islands at the eastern side.
The weight of fish that would be counted need to be at least five kilograms (11 pounds):
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Replant, & Recovery (5R) Action! is an important part of Sanur Village Festival 2010. It aims to encourage the concrete actions of the people of Bali as well as all of the citizens of the earth to help extend the age of the earth.
Reduce, reuse, recycle, plant back, and restore are the five simple activities which could bring miracle on earth if carried out continuously and simultaneously.
Activities undertaken include: tree planting neem Intaran / neem (Azaridachta indica), the planting of coral reefs, the release of hatchlings (young turtles), beach clean ups activities, and environmental exhibitions.
The Committee of Sanur Village Festival, in collaboration with Denpasar Photography Community presents a photography contest with this year’s theme. The object of photos would be the activities in this year’s Festival, which highlights the festival’s theme of “Saha Nuhur” – the new spirit of our heritage.
The photos need to be received at least one week after the closing date of Sanur Village Festival 2010 on August 15.
The date of this exhibition would be announced in the future. The decision of the chosen photos would be made based on their esthetic aspect, composition, color, originality, and consistency with our theme.
Three best photographers would be the rightful recipients awards and twenty others would be receiving prizes.
Fun games presents folk games that once was an inseparable part of ever become part of community life of Sanur. This program is open to the public either from local communities or foreign tourists.
The spirit of the game is fun, happiness, act as “braya”, and sportsmanship. The competition would be held with the knockout system around the festival’s arena.
The types of games are as followed:
August 5
Nyuun besek (carry the container) and ducks catch.
August 6
“Tajog” run and ducks catch.
August 7
Gebuk bantal (pillow fight) and ducks catch.
August 8
Tug of war for mothers and ladies, piglet catch, and climbing bamboo poles.
