A day at Erlangga 2
Erlangga 2 is one of many top destinations for souvenir and gift hunters in Bali. Being a one stop shopping center of Balinese souvenirs and gifts, Erlangga 2 provides a great range of clothes, home decor, beauty products, and food and snacks. It is easy to find various types and styles of souvenirs and gifts you can purchase as a memento from your travel or business trip.
The great thing is, these items come at a cheap price!
On the narrow street of Nusa Kambangan, Denpasar, Erlangga 2 is situated in a huge building, it’s almost like a mall. The shop offers facilities such as very spacious parking lot, food court, packing service, and a musalla. An ATM center is available, which makes your shopping experience works well when you need to grab some cash immediately.
There are two entrances. The front gate entrance is less crowded and it takes you straight to the painting and clothes sections. If you enter from the parking lot, you will find visitors hanging around or taking a break on the benches outside the entrance and the exit door. When we visited the shop, this area was full-packed, with motorbikes and cars from and to the parking lot passing by and visitors crossing to the food court. There were also many traditional musical instruments and Balinese style props to pose with.
Shoppers can keep their stuff in lockers at the baggage counter. Learning that shoppers come with bags and belongings, Erlangga 2 makes it convenient for them.
Painting section has many hand-painted artworks with typical Balinese style.
Surprisingly, you can get one at around IDR 75.000 only. If you dig through the piles of canvases, you might find some others with lower the price.
Another section near the front gate is candle holders, wind chimes, and photo frames.
Various types and colors of candle holders are available, from simple flowers to seashell-studded. Browse your favorite styles of wind chimes to bring relaxing sounds to your home. In this section, you can buy cute photo frames that are perfect to capture your Bali memories.
One of the largest sections in Erlangga 2 is the dress section.
Tropical style dresses made from colorful fabrics will complete your Bali dream trip. The cheapest dress we found was at IDR 40.000, but again, with that large selection of dresses, there might be cheaper options. Don’t forget to get another Bali essentials: beach sarongs. Get them together with antique and traditional fabrics on the first floor. Erlangga 2 has most of fashion pieces like belts, hats, purses, and scarves.
Bring home the island music with traditional musical instruments such as Balinese gamelan.
This section in the middle of the first floor also provides home decor, statues, keychains, trinkets, toys, and wooden calendar.
So many choices! You are going to have a good time browsing through all those!
If you want to treat your body with some local beauty products and skincare, head to the small racks nearby the cashiers.
Tick all the boxes off: soap, shampoo, conditioner, essential oils, coconut oil, face wash, lotion, scrubs, and many more to discover. You will love the unique Balinese scent and besides, the natural ingredients are surely good for your skin.
Food and snacks make the best gifts to share local flavors with your friends, family, and lovers. Traditional cakes (such as dodol), peanuts, crackers (krupuk), and Balinese coffee are among the food products you can purchase.
Parents will enjoy kids section, which is basically the miniature of all clothes section in the shop!
Head to the left and you find Balinese graphic T-shirts, another great souvenirs to pick.
Erlangga 2 is a two-storey building with huge spaces, both contain various shopping items, but each has their own style according to the items they arrange. You get traditional vibe in the first floor, but when you go upstairs, you might feel slightly off Balinese ambience because of the typical modern mall layout. You still have plenty of stuff to choose from!
The upper floor focuses on formal clothing, batik shirts, kebaya (traditional blouse), and jewelry.
You will also get surprised to see moslem fashion section that takes up most of the floor and displays a great variety of women and men moslem clothes. Since Erlangga 2 is so popular among Indonesians, this section is a must especially when Lebaran holiday is coming.
Keep walking around to find bags and sandals section.
Most of the bags are tote bags, but another types are also available.
If you wish to get a good package to ship to your family, friends, or to bring it along with you on your way home, Erlangga 2 provides the packing service.
It helps you pack the items you buy in case you don’t have time to make a good package yourself!
Tired of shopping and need some refreshing drinks or quick meals to fill up your empty belly? Rest assured, simply walk a few steps to the food court.
Food stalls selling Indonesian and Western food and snacks are here for you.
Traditional markets might have cheaper price if you are good at bargaining, but if you are in rush, Erlangga 2 can be a saver. Erlangga 2 offers fixed price only, but you can save heaps and get much cheaper price for souvenirs and gifts. You will find everything you want! And don’t worry about the parking space.
Happy hunting, shoppers!
