Dairy Products, Juices, Vegetables, Fruits, Meat, and Frozen Food

We headed to the left side to see rows of imported and local dairy products and fruit juices. Fresh vegetables were arranged next to it. Many of these green products had organic-certified label and were grown in Indonesian farms, such as healthy snacks from hydroponics growers in Plaga, Bali. By buying local products, you help supporting go green campaign of local communities. Plus, you can stay healthy with local price!

When we swept through this section, a foreigner asked a store employee where aloe vera for skin burn was available at. The shop keeper spoke good English and directed him to the aisle he needed. The cashier girl was friendly, too. She greeted us, collected our goods, and calculated the price quickly. Overall, the service was satisfying.

Grand Lucky Bali supermarket was opened in mid-2015, and is a part of Grand Lucky supermarket chain based in Jakarta. The supermarket has Casa D Angelo bakery and coffee shop, money changer, and ATM. The opening hours are 8 AM to 10 PM. Their motto, “Kami memang beda” (We are different), does show you what makes it stand out from other grocery stores.

Pros:

  • Reasonable price
  • Spacious, easy-to-navigate parking lot
  • Good service
  • One stop shopping for imported and local goods, plus various organic and vegetarian food selections
  • Recommended for quick-shopping

Cons:

  • One-way street of Sunset Road. In case you miss the location, you must turn around hundreds of meters ahead. It’s an inconvenience especially during traffic jam of the street, but hey, the pros will be definitely worth it!
