Kebaya for Balinese has its own specific place in their daily lives, not only worn during formal activities, Balinese kebaya is also used during a sacred and religious event. The detail that separates Balinese kebaya from the rest is the usage of a sash (called senget) tied in a bow at the hip. A kebaya will be paired with a traditional sarong or a Balinese typical endek, complementing the whole look. When you have the chance to witness a big ceremony such as Melasti, remember to pay attention to the fashion. So many beautiful fabrics, vibrant color, details of the lace, certainly a festivity for the eyes.

The event was truly a feast for the senses, the right moment to appreciate talents and dedication of Indonesia’s own aspiring and professional designers. We look forward to the next 2017’s exhibition with new looks, ideas, passion, and professionalism.
