Description:

Lacalita Bar y Cocina, sister to Seminyak’s Lacalaca Cantina Mexicana

Lacalita Bar y Cocina is an evolution of modern Mexican dining brought to Canggu. Our food’s fresh and drinks an art form. Our walls are full of colour and ceilings dripping in flowers accompanied by rock n roll tunes. We are a dining experience made for sharing and if you don’t have anyone to share with you’ve always got infused Jalepeno tequila.

Why are we here? There are so many ways to answer this question. But we’re not philosophers, we just make Mexican tasty, so we’ll stay focused. Adelaide born Chef, entrepreneur and Godfather of the taco, Will Lovejoy decided to branch out in October 2014 and give the people of Canggu what they’d been craving. Some decent Mexican. He also thought it would also be nice to give his Seminyak restaurant Lacalaca Cantina Mexican a little sister. Make sure you visit her too. Because family is everything.

Leave all of your pre conceived ideas of Mexican food as you step inside our spectacular handmade Javanese wooden doors. We are all about freshness and attention to detail. Experience a gastronomic explosion in your mouth that you previously thought not possible this side of the border.

Imagine wild grown mushrooms, baked ricotta, shaved almonds, pulled pork, juicy pineapple salsa, hot pots of melted cheeses, chorizo, crispy tortillas, and layers of toffee banana and whipped cream.

A few of our favourites? The Love and Joy Margarita made with fresh watermelon named after our boss man because it’s fun and a little (actually a lot) cheeky. We also love a bit of spice at our place so our classic margaritas contain jalapenos as well as some kind of magical ingredient that makes people dance on our bars. Don’t mind your manners but please mind your heads on the flower lampshades when you‘re climbing up there because they took ages to make.

Happy hours are for weekdays from 5-7pm On weekends we go wild with all day drink specials including 250k sangria jugs Saturday
