Perang Tipat Bantal or Rice Cake War is a typical festival/ritual at Kapal village in Mengwi. Tipat means rice cake, which represents women. Bantal means pillow, representing men, therefore the 'collision' of tipat and bantal hopefully will bring prosperity to the village. Whenever the village has a good harvest, they will celebrate the Perang Tipat Bantal ritual. The ritual also represent the expression of gratitude from the villagers for a bountiful harvest as well as for the safety and well-being of the entire village Boats. It is truly a one of a kind ritual where villagers throw rice cakes at each other, it is a peaceful and fun loving festival. You will see villagers laughing and joking at each other.
